Philadelphia, PA - August 28, 2024 saw the return of the annual Women Who Rock Benefit Concert, presented by Gibson Gives at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ahead of the event, we spoke to Women Who Rock founder Melinda Colaizzi and legendary singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge. Etheridge will headline the 100 percent female-fronted music lineup at the show, and has signed a 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue, which is up for auction in aid of the Magee-Womens Research Institute. Gibson Gives supported with a grant.

“The Women Who Rock benefit concert is all about raising funds for life-saving women’s health research,” says Melissa Etheridge. “I went through my own health issue 20 years ago, I’m still cancer-free now, and I know how important it is for women’s health to be studied specifically and independently.”

Nashville, TN - August 2024 - Gibson Gives partnered with Sophisticated Living (Nashville) magazine in support of the Tennessee Repertory Theatre to support the Arts in Middle Tennessee.


Nashville, TN - July 2024 - Project Update - Our collaboration with Soundwaves Art Foundation is still going strong and a total of $31,850.00 has been raised so far for 4 of our amazing partner organizations supporting mental health in the music industry since the campaign began last fall. 

Each Partner Non-Profit Organization has received a total donation of $7962.00 from this campaign to utilize towards musician mental health programs.


Austin, TX - July 2024 - Gibson Gives partnered with HAAM for this year’s Corporate Battle of the Bands, which attracted a record crowd of over 1,000 attendees. The event featured performances from nine bands representing local businesses.

Thanks to the tremendous support from event sponsors like Gibson Gives, supporters, and attendees, more than $275,000 was raised, surpassing last year’s total of $260,000. These funds will provide nearly $2 million in healthcare services for the more than 3,100 musicians that HAAM serves annually.

Nashville, TN/Los Angeles, CA - July 2024 - Gibson Gives partnered with Music Forward to present the LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Awards for 2024. A unique and impactful grant program, the goal of the LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Awards is to help break down the barriers of access in the music industry, allowing artists to have thriving careers and promote a more inclusive music industry overall.

With 45 of the LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Awards granted, the new Music Forward and Gibson Gives partnership allows the program to continue to champion diverse voices from all backgrounds and communities, from Atlanta to Austin, and New York City to North Hollywood.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe - Considered and honored as the god-mother of rock & roll

Arkansas - June 2024 - Gibson Gives established the third annual Sister Rosetta Tharpe Scholarship, awarded to Luis Melchor, a student at the Arkansas Arts Academy in Rogers, Arkansas.

This scholarship honors Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s home state and supports students pursuing higher education in a music-related field (education, performance, business, wellness, etc.). The scholarship includes $5000 and an SG Electric Guitar

Nashville, TN - June 2024 (Ryman Auditorium) Gibson Gives supplied artist and instrument support for the annual “Stars For Second Harvest” benefit concert.

Hardy, Jamey Johnson, Darius Rucker, Mitchell Tenpenny, Chase Rice, Lukas Nelson and more were also present for the special night of music, laughter and community, which supported a donation of more than 1.4 million meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and their efforts to provide food to those facing hunger and advance hunger solutions in the community.


On June 9th, 2024, at the Gibson Garage in Nashville the Les Paul Foundation presented the legendary Peter Frampton with the 2024 Les Paul Spirit Award in partnership with Gibson Gives.

Michael Braunstein, Executive Director of Les Paul Foundation and third generation Les Paul manager is seen here with the one-of-a-kind award and Peter Frampton. The award is made from a piece of wood from Les Paul's home studio acoustic wall that he and his son Rusty carved themselves for that perfect sound. It is a piece of music memorabilia like none other.

In his acceptance Peter spoke of his admiration for Les Paul and his friendship and later performed for a standing-room only crowd.

Nashville, TN - June 2024 - Gibson Gives partnered with Good Neighbor Festivals for the Nashville Pride Festival held in June at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.

Gibson Gives contributed to support the event, which annually attracts over 125,000 people to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in the Middle Tennessee region. The festival begins with the annual Pride parade and includes top-rated entertainment on multiple stages, a Kids and Family Zone, Youth Area, Community Art, VIP and Friends of Pride Area, Recharge Station, Volunteer Hospitality Area, and over 225 vendors featuring local non-profits, artists, and businesses.


Louisville, Kentucky - Month of June 2024 - Gibson Gives partnered with the University of Louisville Music Therapy Department to conduct a comprehensive survey of music therapists, receiving 841 responses regarding their knowledge and use of the electric guitar in music therapy.


MusicCares | Gibson Gives Mental Health Month

Los Angeles, Month of May 2024 - Gibson Gives supported Mental Health Awareness Month in May by partnering with MusiCares to promote mental health resources for the music industry through this Social Strategy Campaign.

By raising awareness and promoting open discussions about mental health, the industry can help break the stigma surrounding mental health issues, encouraging individuals to seek help and support.


New Orleans, LA. (May 4, 2024) Gibson Gives partnered with the Better Than Ezra Foundation to provide scholarships for the 2nd Line Arts Collective Foundation. Better Than Ezra Foundation raised $20,500 and Gibson Gives matched the monies raised for a total scholarship support of $41,000.

This will provide scholarships for their 2nd Line Arts Collective’s annual Sanaa Music Workshop.


Nashville, TN (May 22,2024) - Gibson Gives supported Musicians On Call for their annual event in May. For 25 years, Musicians On Call has delivered the healing power of music to patients, families and caregivers in hospitals across the country. In honor of this important milestone, MOC held its Anthems of Healing celebration on Wednesday, May 22nd at Marathon Music Works. Hosted by Amber Anderson and Kelly Sutton of Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly, the night featured live performances and appearances by award-winning artists, including Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna Judd, Charles Esten, Tiera Kennedy, Tigirlily Gold and more.

During the event, two special honorees were recognized for their commitment to Musicians On Call’s mission, Kelsea Ballerini and Rondal Richardson. The event raised over $380,000. A Custom Wrapped Gibson directly in front of the speaker podium can be seen above as provided by Gibson Gives.


Nashville, TN - (May 13, 2024) Gaylord’s Spring House Golf Course - “The Club Classic”, our 2nd annual charity golf tournament with The Twelve Thirty Club and Gibson Gives at Gaylord Springs Golf Links on May 13th. Our first year saw country music artist Randy Houser lift the Cup alongside his winning team as we raised more than $10,000 dollars for Gibson Gives two initiatives – music education in local TN schools and mental health resources for veterans.

Other celebrities that joined us included former professional athletes and coaches, influencers, performers, managers, and artists. This year we tripled that and raised just over $41,000 to go towards our mission!

Atlanta, GA. (March 2024) - Gibson Gives has partnered with Give A Note to restore the music program at Atlanta (Cobb County) based Campbell High School this May.

Gibson Gives in March has provided electric and acoustic guitars as well as KRK monitors as Give A Note makes a $50,000 grant in cash and in-kind instruments to restore the music program that fell victim to budget cuts during COVID. This donation is being embraced by the school district with enthusiasm and they have now hired a music educator for the new program starting in the fall of 2024.

Austin, TX (March 2024) This year, Gibson Gives collaborated with the Give A Note Foundation to bolster the American Songwriter Contest.

The winner, an extraordinary 10-piece ensemble named Grand Master (complete with a harp player), offers a fusion of Spirogyra and Steely Dan influences in their distinctive style.

Gibson Gives provided the Give A Note Foundation with a Kramer Guitar, which was presented to the band by Bootsy Collins on behalf of GAN at SXSW.

Anaheim, CA (January 2024) Gibson Gives proudly backs the 2024 IMAGINE PARTY, featuring the Lennon Bus showcased on the NAMM show floor this year. Through our support, Gibson Gives provided guitars for daily raffles, aiming to raise funds for the operation of the Lennon Bus. Additionally, Gibson Gives continues its support for the International Contest, a tradition aligned with the inception of the bus. Gibson Gives + Gibson Brands + Gibson Garage work to bring relief to Victims of the Tennessee Tornadoes of December 2023

Nashville, TN (December 2023) Gibson Gives with Gibson Brands Inc., and the Gibson Garage have partnered to provide donations of necessary items for relief to the communities of Clarksville, Madison, and Hendersonville/Gallatin Tennessee to provide aid to thos in need from the December 2023 Tornadoes that impacted the area this month.

We are also partnering to provide some replacement guitars to some music education facilities that lost all their instruments.


Gibson Gives + Free Guitars For Kids Partner for Maui Relief

Maui, HI. (October/November 2023) - Gibson Gives and Free Guitars for Kids are partnering with artist, Kapali Long to send guitars to 6 established ‘refugee’ camps in Maui where they will be used to help kids cope with displacement and loss until life can start to return to normal. This brings a level of music wellness and provides healing and comfort to the victims of the fires - well beyond when focus on the event is forgotten. The guitars will be arriving with the artist in December.


No Strings Attached + Gibson Gives supports UK-based Music Therapy Program - ReTune

NO STRINGS ATTACHED brings together some of the biggest names in music for a unique creative project, in partnership with Gibson Gives.

Each participating artist has created an original artwork on the wooden soundboard of a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar.

Framed alongside scratch plates signed by the artists, the artworks will be exhibited at the Scotch of St. James in central London before being sold in an online auction. Prints from the project will also be on display throughout the auction at the South Mills Arts centre in Bishop’s Stortford.

This event raised approximately $9,000 for Gibson Gives.


Gibson Gives TEMPO teams with the University of Tennessee’s Institute for Public Service (SMART Program)

Knoxville, TN (October 2023) TEMPO Live Music Venue program continues to grow as we partnered with the University of Tennessee’s Institute for Public Service’s SMART Initiative Substance Use Program to replicate the Live Music Venue Program in Knoxville.

In October, we placed the initial 10 units in Live Music Venues around the University of Tennessee. By the end of the first weekend, we had already used two doses to save lives! Saving one life makes this program worthwhile! We’ve now placed over 20 units in the Knoxville area.

University of Louisville + Gibson Gives supports Music Therapy Program

Louisville, KY (September 2023) Gibson Gives partnered with the University of Louisville Music Therapy Program and director, Chris Millett to provide instruments. As part of their graduate program therapy research finals, students must spend a semester working with underserved kids who come in and work on therapy through music with a music student teaching the kids how to play guitars.

Gibson Gives provided the guitars for the pilot program and now that it has been proven successful, provided guitars for the program to grow and become a permanent part of the Music Therapy Program

Gibson Gives TEMPO Program supports the West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute for the Healing Appalachia Festival and trains over 20,000!

West Virginia (September 2023) TEMPO (Training and Empowering Musicians to Prevent Overdose) , in partnership with the West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute provided guitars for give-away during Healing Appalachia, as well as was a call out for attendees as Naloxone training was done.

The three-day festival held in Lewisburg, WV, between September 21-23. Every night, right before the headlining act, the team took center stage, not just to gift a Gibson guitar, but more importantly, to train the audience on administering life-saving naloxone.

We achieved a significant milestone by distributing 853 ONEboxes and 1,706 life-saving naloxone doses and training 20,000 attendees from stage.


Gibson Gives Partnership with Purdue University Polytechnic’s School of Mechanical Engineering

Nashville, TN (September 2023) Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program and Gibson Gives have formed an alliance offering students the necessary experiential learning to create highly skilled future luthiers. Gibson Gives has provided guitars for playing examples as well as a host of items to serve for lab studies. The program also furthers the prep of students in the study of music trades.


Gibson Gives Supports Ryan Seacrest Foundation Hospital Studios

Nashville, TN (September 2023) Gibson Gives partnered with Ryan Seacrest Foundation to provide gear for the opening of their 13th studio at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York. This resulted in Gibson Gives providing new gear to all 13 locations in the month of September and October of this year. Provided were guitars (electric and acoustic) as well as KRK Studio headphones and monitors. We are proud to partner with Ryan Seacrest Foundation as they continue the pursuit of in-hospital music wellness programs!

Gibson Gives Supports Musicians On Call at the Pilgrimage Festival

Franklin, TN (September 2023) Gibson Gives hosted strategic partner, Musicians On Call with a booth at the Pilgrimage Festival. This booth allowed them to capture a years worth of content with artists for their in-room video performances and to arrange with artists to provide live in-room performance for patients as part of their music therapy program. Gibson Gives Sponsors the Country Music Hall of Fame Louise Scruggs Memorial Forum

Nashville, TN (August 2023) The Louise Scruggs Memorial Forum honors music industry leaders who continue Scruggs’s legacy as a formidable businesswoman who set new professional standards in artist management. This year’s ceremony honors Lorianne Crook, a television and radio host, producer, and writer, as well as the president of Jim Owens Entertainment, Inc. Since 1983, she and Charlie Chase have co-hosted several different country music news television shows, specials, and award shows, as well as the long-running radio show —The Crook and Chase Countdown. Crook is a member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame. Gibson Gives was the founding sponsor of this event and this marks the 15th event for the Louis Scruggs Memorial Forum.

NASHVILLE, TN (May 24, 2023) Gibson, the iconic, leading American instrument brand headquartered in Nashville, TN, is thrilled to announce its annual music scholarship program the Gibson Gives Scholarship--in partnership with the Save The Music Foundation--has chosen nine young students for 2023. The goal of the Gibson Gives and Save The Music Scholarship is to advance equitable opportunities that help musicians and prospective music students nationwide develop careers in the music industry. The Gibson Gives and Save the Music Scholarship program is available to students who are planning to pursue music at a college, university, or music academy. Each recipient receives one acoustic or electric guitar, as well as a $5,000 cash grant to assist in their ​college funding. The Gibson Gives and Save The Music Scholarships alone will result in $67,000.00+ (9 grants of $5,000 and 9 Gibson guitars) in giving to young musicians.

Gibson Gives Continues to expand the TEMPO Program

and their Live Music Venue Footprint

Nashville, TN (May 19, 2023) Emergency Opioid Kits continue to be donated to local music venues in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. “It’s a simple nasal spray that will attack the neurons in the brain that are telling you to stop breathing and re-engage you to breathe again,” said Dendy Jarrett, the Executive Director of Gibson Gives.

When you open what’s called a “One box” kit, there’s a training video in English and in Spanish to show how to help someone who’s overdosing.

Dendy Jarrett is the executive director of Gibson Gives, a non-profit focused on music education and wellness. Jarrett explains how the number of overdoses concerned encouraged them to develop a program called “T.E.M.P.O” which stands for “Training and Empowering Musicians to Prevent Overdose.”

“For the last two years, over a hundred thousand people have died from overdose in the United States. Over 700 in Davidson county alone. The last two years running,” said Jarrett. “

This is the new AED,” said Leavitt. David Leavitt provides his security guards with these kits. He explains how having this nearby is so critical.

“Well with downtown crowds and downtown traffic that can take several minutes and sometimes it can be too late by the time the paramedics arrive and people end up going to the hospital in a very critical condition,” explained Leavitt.


Gibson Gives Donates to National School of Arts in Cuba

NASHVILLE, TN (May 10, 2023) Gibson Gives, the philanthropic arm of Gibson–the iconic American instrument brand–donated 52 guitars, gear, and equipment to benefit students attending the National School of Arts in Cuba.

Access to even simple musical supplies such as guitar strings is limited in Cuba. Gibson provided 100 sets of guitar strings, guitar picks, and 52 Epiphone acoustic guitars to the 21 music education programs through the National School of Arts. Students and representatives of Havana elementary schools and conservatories were on hand for the gifting and celebration. Additionally, Gibson will donate 100 more Epiphone guitars to the school in the coming months.

FRANKLIN, TN (February 23, 2023) FirstBank Amphitheater’s 2022 concert season featured legendary performances from Miranda Lambert, Nine Inch Nails, Cody Johnson, Willie Nelson, Third Eye Blind, Halsey, Earth Wind & Fire, and so many more! Guitars for Vets (G4V) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports Veterans struggling with the challenges of Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) by providing them with free guitars and lessons. To date, G4V and its nearly 500 volunteers have gifted more than 5,000 new guitars and 50,000 lessons to those that have endured the wounds of war. All of the instruments and accessories are provided free of charge to Vets in the program, but the cost must be met through donations. The public private partnership Music Makes Us will distribute the donation of guitars and other music equipment across Metro Nashville Public Schools music education programs, as well as sistering school districts.

The Gibson Gives donation will directly benefit students in schools with guitar learning programs including the following schools: Antioch High School, Bellevue Middle School, Donelson Middle School, H.G. Hill Middle School, Hillwood High School,John Overton High School, Maplewood High School, McGavock High School, and Nashville School of the Arts. The donation includes Gibson guitars (electric, acoustic, and bass guitars), 36 amplifiers, 1700 pairs of guitar strings, and 116 guitar stands. Additionally, Gibson Gives has provided 1000 PPE face masks to all Nashville Metro Public Schools music students valued at $4,000.

Starting September 1, the talented young Gibson Generation Group musicians, aka Gibson G3 will provide virtual music mentorship for Children’s Cancer Association which serves children by sharing guitar lessons, and giving hospitalized kids the chance to learn how to play an instrument. NASHVILLE, TN (July 12, 2021) In July-2019, Gibson re-launched its philanthropic arm Gibson Gives--and upon its two-year anniversary, Gibson Gives is proud to announce it has raised over $2.5 million dollars worldwide through its mission of creating, developing, and supporting non-profit organizations in their efforts to advance musicians, as well as youth-focused education and wellness initiatives. Leveraging the success of Gibson Gives, the brand followed with KRK Kares, and has announced today the launch of Epiphone Empowered, Kramer Kares, and Mesa Mission. Women Who Rock connects through the power of music and helps educate, support, and fund women-centric health research. The Women Who Rock event featured performances by Gibson Artists Rita Wilson and Orianthi. It also featured Lauren Monroe with Rick Allen of Def Leppard as well as The Vindys, and DJ Femi. There was a kick-off event and announcement of Gibson Gives sponsorship held at the Gibson Garage on August 25th and a pop-up shop to support at the Gibson Garage.Gibson and Gibson Gives also have partnered with Women Who Rock to produce a co-branded merchandise line to include picks, straps and multiple t-shirt designs which will launch in November at the Gibson Garage and online. The virtual concert will be available at all 11 closed-circuit hospital networks for Seacrest Studios partner hospitals in September.

The Nashville Sessions concert features performances and interviews with multi-platinum selling, recording artist-songwriter and ACM “New Male Artist of the Year” award winner Jimmie Allen, ACM “New Female Artist of the Year” award-winning multi-platinum singer-songwriter Lauren Alaina, and next generation country music star Jillian Jacqueline, on location at the all-new Gibson Garage, which offers music fans theultimate guitar experience--in the heart of downtown Nashville, Music City USA. The artists perform several songs and talk about the inspiring stories behind their music in sit-down interviews. Gibson Gives in partnership with Gibson Custom Shop Presents the Les Paul Custom Birthday Tribute Guitar

Designed as a tribute to Les Paul to honor him on what would be his 106th birthday. 

Created completely by hand by Custom Shop artisan Rick Hinrichsen, the portrait is wood burned and carved capturing Les joyfully with a guitar in hand. Les’ nickname, the “Wizard of Waukesha,” is represented on the hand-etched truss rod cover. “Vaya Con Dios” on the front of the guitar was recorded by Les Paul and Mary Ford and went to #1 on the charts. It was the theme song for the “Les Paul and Mary Ford at Home” television show.  

Les’ contributions to music are too numerous to represent on a single guitar.  He will forever be an inspiration to fans worldwide. This one-of-a-kind, Custom Shop guitar is a loving tribute to his legacy.  Bid now to support!
